Sony's New PVM-X300 Professional Monitor Offers Powerful Support of 4K monitoring in the Field

Sony today announced the new PVM-X300, a 30-inch 4096 x 2160 resolution monitor for powerful support of 4K monitoring in the field. The PVM-X300's 30-inch 4K LCD panel is capable of displaying over four times Full HD resolution in a single screen.

The PVM-X300 incorporates Sony's exclusive TRIMASTER™ technology architecture, achieving excellent colour and picture quality reproduction which makes this monitor ideal for 4K cinema production (onset monitoring, dailies and editing), 4K live production (camera control, program preview) and real-time 4K presentation.

Industry players have long desired for a monitor like the PVM-X300 due to its portability, focusing and wide array of interfaces that make critical 4K picture evaluation in the field easier. Furthermore, the PVM-X300 can incorporate an innovative 4K player which offers unprecedented ease of handling 4K content. This expands the new 4K world not only to cinema applications, but also for live production, documentaries, business and industry applications.

This new professional video monitor also incorporates a RGB 10 bit panel, uniformity control and can accurately display industry standard colour space of ITU-R BT.709. Moreover, the PVM-X300 features IPS (In Plane Switching) technology for a wider viewing angle.

A wide array of interfaces makes the PVM-X300 able to connect to almost any 4K imaging equipment and support various display modes. Other convenient functions include Auto White Adjustment* (supporting major colour analysers in the market), a Camera Assist Function (Focus in colour, Zoom) and Stereo Audio (Stereo speaker, Line out, Headphone jack).

Supporting 4096x2160/24p and 3840x2160/24,25,30p* with one single HDMI cable. The PVM-X300 is also equipped with a unique feature of evaluating video signal of 4096x2160/60p with one single HDMI cable when connected to Sony’s new PMW-F55 4K camera system.

SxS 4K Player* (Optional)
The PVM-X300 can incorporate an optional 4K player, which is capable of easy playback of 4K content. The newly-developed “SxS PRO+(Plus)” high speed memory media, which supports XAVC 4K and XAVC HD High Frame Rate Recording, can be inserted into the player providing quick viewing of 4K camera images and 4K programs. This SxS Player is expected to be available in the spring of 2013.

Sony’s PVM-X300 monitor will be available in Asia Pacific*** from February 2013 onwards.
